Why radiator hoses fail
Heat cycles harden the rubber. A hose that feels hard as a rock is finished even if it has not started leaking yet, and the next stage is a crack, a bulge, or a burst under pressure. Upper, lower and middle hoses are not interchangeable, and the same machine often uses a different hose for each engine variant.
